The word “scholarship” is translatable across the world: “bourse d’étude” in France, “stipendium” in Germany, “beca” in Spanish, etc. However, the concept of a scholarship can be interpreted differently depending on your culture. When we hear the word “scholarship” we only think of top-of-the-class students or those in financial need. The Go Campus program doesn’t require you to be either to receive scholarship offers. Let us tell you why!
Academics aren’t Everything
It is very important to do well in your academics, your parents remind you of this often enough. However, Go Campus programs help international students of all levels to receive scholarship offers from American colleges and universities. Although, American institutions greatly value academic achievements (students should present at least a 2.5 GPA), they also look at the big picture. What makes you unique? Sports? Music? Instruments? How would you contribute to have a multicultural campus? Will you create your own club or organization?
You Don’t Need to be English Proficient
Colleges and universities in the USA know that English is not the first language of the majority of international students, and they are prepared to help! Students with little or virtually no English proficiency will still receive advantageous scholarship offers for the undergraduate level, and if necessary will be enrolled in an ESL (English as a Second Language) program.
Available to All Participants
The scholarships offered through the Go Campus program are not based on your financial situation. Scholarships are awarded based upon each student’s academic potential, complete application and file, institutions recruitment goals, evaluation of records, and the scholarship funds available.
So Why do You Deserve a Scholarship?
At this point, many of you reading are probably starting to wonder why would any college or university in the USA offer you a scholarship? Go Campus works closely with institutions across the country that understand the value that a multicultural student body adds to the campus community and classroom experience. They are therefore willing to offer scholarships to Go Campus candidates, even those with lower marks and English level, with the condition that participants are motivated, involved in the campus community and will perform at the same (or better) level than other students.
Don’t Expect a “Full-ride”
It is very important to understand that receiving a scholarship in the USA does not always mean your education will be free. Although full scholarships do exist, they are very hard to obtain and are usually awarded to students with incredible talents in academics or other fields, such as athletics. Go Campus is proud to present qualified undergraduate candidates with annual costs (tuition, room and board) starting at $12,000 per academic year, and scholarship offers covering up to 60% of the annual cost.
